He has given me
Poem No. 805
He has given me what I do not deserve before the racing ribbon I was wont to swerve, but though I had tumbled and faltered at the last He has held me fast. My pride is humbled by how He provides— I could not carry my cross if He did not take the strides.
A sort of a psalm.
In my head, this poem has a horse-racing theme. I am not sure why, exactly. Something about the “racing ribbon,” “swerving” before the finish, and Him taking the “strides.”
